The future pensioners have to make sure that their office sends their retirement documents to Post-Service Division at least 3 months from their retirement date in order to make sure that the retirement benefits can be paid on time.
Pensioners have to make sure that their office sends the changes documentation to Post-Service Division for the recalculation of pensioner’s retirement benefits.
Non-permanent services (Sandaran) cannot be taken into for the calculation of retirement services.
Payment of gratuity and monthly pension will take into force on the date of retirement of the pensioner.
Family of an officer who died in service should go to the officer’s office and provide necessary documents. Then, they have to make sure that the officer’s office provides such derivative documents within 7 days from officer’s date of the death of.
Family of pensioners can either go to PSD or send additional documents for cases of deceased pensioners in order for PSD pay derivative pension to respective dependants.
Pension recipient who continue his/her study must fill in confirmation on continuing study – JPA.BP.SPT.B03a and send it to the derivative pension unit for updating purposes.
Eligibility of widow/ widower whom was married while in retirement is only for the remaining from 20 years ahead from the date of retirement.
For spouse which was married while in services, the eligibility for child who was born after the retirement period are until 21 years old and prolonged untul finishing his/her first degree whereas for spouse which was married in retirement period, eligibility for their children is only for the remaining from 20 years ahead from the date of retirement.
Widow/widower who was married after privatization is only for the remaining from 20 years ahead from the date of retirement.
The officer can change its choice to B scheme within 2 years form the date of privatization.
Cash in Lieu on Accumulated Leave (GCR) is an award given to federal officers who does have chances to use their leave due to service priorities.
GCR was taken into charge on 1st January 1974 through Service Circular 1 Year 1974 and only given to federal officers who retired on or after 1st January 1974.
GCR only can be given to permanent officers (including those in probation period) and temporary officers in federal services.
GCR are not eligible for officer who resigned or officer who was terminated due to disciplinary cause.
Accumulation of GCR is by the guide of Rule 21(1), Pension Regulation 1980, Service Circular (which are related) and General Orders Chapter C.
GCR given are based on 1/30 from last drawn salary, subject to maximum 150 days accumulated.
PSD is responsible to approves and pay this award for federal pensioners whereas GCR for statutory bodies and local authority pensioners, GCR will be paid by their respective last department.
Payments of this award for federal officers are under the Federal Government form the Consolidated Fund.
Payment of GCR will be made within 21 days from the retirement date of an officer.
