- • The influence of globalisation, economic liberalisation and the development of information technology has made every aspect of our life more challenging. The style of our community involvement in the implementation and management of our economic activities have and will change very fast with these developments. The Public Service Department (PSD) is always sensitive towards the changes that are happening around us. As a central agency responsible for human resource management of the public service, the PSD constantly putting its efforts in not only giving fast services but also meeting the needs of the customers who comprise government agencies and its employees, pensioners, students and the public. This portal was launched on 12th June 2002 to replace the website of the PSD which was introduced on 31st October 1996. The portal is constantly updated in terms of its content, image and the availability of its facilities. It is hoped that the information on different aspects of personnel management that are being managed by the department will be a useful source of reference and helpful to all users. It is also hoped that through the PSD portal, issues such as accessing circulars, posting questions and complaints regarding service delivery and even applying for courses will be easier and, at the same time, improve our customer service.
Given fast development of a knowledge-based economy, I hope, through the use of these portal, the PSD will better contribute towards the existence of knowledgeable employees that are needed in public service today.
I also wish to encourage further constructive views and opinions for better information management for the good of all.
