Counselling is a face-to-face assistance process between a Psychology Officer and a normal client, whereas guidance is an assistance process to individuals in relation to knowledge, understanding and skill.
Apart from civil servants, PSD-sponsored students and government pensioners are eligible for the counselling services provided by the Psychology Management Division, PSD.
The types of issues that can be discussed encompass performance and career, health, family, development and skills, spiritual, finance, attitude, addiction, psychosocial issues, and others.
Any issue/information discussed during the counselling session is confidential and will not be disclosed in detail to any party without your consent except:
For referral cases, a brief report will be forwarded to the Head of Department that referred the case.
A situation that can cause danger and harm to yourself or others.
A situation where there is proof of violation of the existing law and regulation of the country and the organisation such as crime and others.
