The Public Service Department (PSD) refers to the letter about the anomaly of pension calculation by P.S., Petaling Jaya, Selangor entitled "Promotion Comes With Lower Pay" in the New Straits Times dated 18th September 2012.

The concern on the anomaly of pension calculation is properly addressed by Service Circular Letter Number 4 of 2008, which ensures that the last-drawn salary used for the calculation of his retirement benefits will not be less than if he had remained in his previous grade until his retirement.
