Procedures are needed to be referred when there are violations on regulations and misconduct by an public service officer.

Surcharge Procedure
Surcharge is a method for the government to recover all losses made by the government caused by an officer for the following reasons:
  1. failure to collect any monies owing;
  2. improper payment of monies;
  3. loss, deficiency or destruction of government property;
  4. failure to keep proper records; and / or
  5. failure or delay in making payment due.

Procedure Where Officer Is Subject To Criminal Proceedings
Procedure that needs to be referred to if an officer is charged in court for a criminal offence.

‘Convicted’ or ‘conviction’ means a finding by court, under any written law, that such officer is guilty of a criminal offence.

‘Criminal offence’ means any offence involving fraud or dishonesty or moral turpitude.

‘Court’ means a court, including a Shariah Court, which has competent jurisdiction under any written law to try a person for a criminal offence.

Procedure Where Officer is Absent Without Leave and Cannot Be Traced
Absence includes a failure to be present for any length of time at a time and place where the officer is required to be present for the performance of his duties.
